As we wrap up the first semester, I’m grateful for the moments that have defined these past few months—hard work in the classroom, campus traditions, concerts and performances, and a community that continues to show up for one another. December is a special time in Whitehouse, and our students have been busy spreading cheer, learning new things, and finishing strong before the break.
Tomorrow, Friday, December 19, is an early release day at 1:00 PM. I hope your family enjoys a restful and joyful holiday season with time to recharge, make memories, and connect with the people you love.
One of the bright spots this month has been Project Joy, a partnership between Whitehouse ISD, the Whitehouse Ministerial Alliance, and local churches and businesses. Our district counseling department helped raise over $2,320, and students and families across our campuses collected thousands of canned food items, supporting 780 students and 275 families this holiday season. The Whitehouse Junior High NJHS raised over $9,100 through their walk-a-thon, an incredible effort led by our students. Thank you for giving so generously. Your kindness reflects the heart of our community.

As we close out 2025, I hope we continue looking for opportunities to show kindness and encouragement. Sometimes a simple check-in or small gesture can mean more than we realize. Thank you for making this semester meaningful for our students and staff. I am honored to serve this community and look forward to what the new year will bring. |
When we return in January, things will move quickly as we begin the second semester. Monday, January 19, is a school holiday. Secondary students will also have several important events coming up, including course selection for the next school year. For our 8th-grade families, please mark your calendars for Passport to Your Future on Thursday, February 5, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Whitehouse High School. This event gives students an important opportunity to explore programs, endorsements, and career pathways before choosing their high school courses. |
To help families stay connected to student progress, we will enable Grading Email Notifications for all Family Access accounts on January 6. If you already receive grade alerts, your current settings will stay the same.
Once this feature is active, parents will receive updates on attendance, low or missing assignments, and a weekly progress report. You can adjust the type or frequency of alerts at any time. For help updating your preferences, visit our Family Access page for tutorials and videos.

Texas weather can be unpredictable. In the event of a delay or closure, we will notify families through district communication channels and local media as early as possible.
Make sure your contact information in Skyward is up to date so you receive alerts. Information will also be posted on the WISD website, Facebook, and shared with local news outlets.

Next month, we look forward to celebrating our Board of Trustees for their leadership and service. These volunteers dedicate countless hours to supporting our students and shaping district priorities. If you see a trustee around town, please take a moment to thank them for all they do.

A special group of students enjoyed a holiday shopping day sponsored by Mostyn Law, complete with budgeted gift-buying and lunch hosted by West Erwin Church of Christ. Watching them choose gifts for others with excitement, patience, and even a power nap or two while waiting to check out was a great reminder of the joy this season brings. |
Five Wildcats officially signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level:
- Ben Reed, Baseball, University of Texas at Tyler
- Alex Rodriguez, Baseball, College of the Ozarks
- Corbyn Galyean, Baseball, Champion Christian College
- Amelia Ginn, Cheer, Tyler Junior College
- Caroline Hooper, Volleyball, Oklahoma Wesleyan University
We could not be more proud of these students and the dedication that brought them here.

The Lady Cats opened district play with a strong win over Marshall, staying undefeated and extending their impressive 22–0 start to the season. Early in the season, several of our Life Skills students were recognized during a special All-Star Night ceremony. Their energy, enthusiasm, and big smiles set the tone for the evening and made the celebration memorable.
