About Me

My name is Jinny Harris, and this is my twelfth year with Whitehouse ISD. I was a counselor at the high school for five years and am so excited to be in my seventh year at the Holloway 6th grade campus.

I grew up in Ohio where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English from Mount Union College before moving to Texas. I had the pleasure of teaching English, Choir, and Theatre Arts in the San Antonio area while pursuing my Master's Degree in Counseling at the University of Texas in San Antonio. I have worked as a School Counselor for grades 6-12 over the past several years in both the San Antonio area and Whitehouse, TX. Additionally, I proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years as a vocalist in the USAF Band of the West at Lackland AFB.

I am blessed with a wonderful family! My husband, Tom, and I met in the Air Force and have been married 23 years. We have three children. Tommi Jo (TJ) is a 2016 graduate of Whitehouse High School and graduated from Dallas Baptist University in May 2020 with a BA in Music Business.  Berri graduated from high school this past May, earning her Cosmetology license while in high school.  She is starting her freshman year in fall 2020 at the University of Southern California to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre.  Benjamin is an 11th grader this year at Whitehouse High School and enjoys football, soccer, and playing with his dog, Snowball.

My favorite hobby is performing in plays and musicals at the Tyler Civic Theatre and Pollard Theatre Center. I also enjoy singing with the church praise team and at the Gladewater Opry. In my "down time" I love watching Gilmore Girls, NCIS, and Chicago PD.
